Description
The Cave de Lugny is a major player in the Mâcon and southern Burgundy. The co-operative works with over 250 growers who between them own 1500 hectares in the region. This unoaked Chardonnay is sourced from the village vineyards of Lugny. The grapes are both hand and mechanically harvested before being gently pressed and fermented. The wine is matured on its lees in stainless steel vats for a minimum of six months during which time full malolactic fermentation can happen. Eggs and dairy are not used in the winemaking process.
Ruth says ” a gorgeous chardonnay with lots of apple and pear charactersitics and a zip of fresh acidity on the finish.”
