Macallan’s Fine & Rare range is home to some absolutely extraordinary whiskies, and this particular release certainly fits the bill. It’s a 32 year old single malt distilled in 1937 and first bottled in 1969, then re-bottled for the Fine & Rare series in 2002.
NOSE: Apple fruits with floral notes balanced with citrus orange and pear drops. Hints of nuttiness add complexity.
PALATE: Light citrus fruits and spices balanced with peat smoke, good dried fruits and aged wood.
FINISH: Fruits and wood with lingering peat smoke, rich, round, smooth and long.
