Description
Marc Brédif is owned and operated by the Baron de Ladoucette and produces some of the finest examples of Vouvray. Very traditionally made, this is 100% Chenin Blanc from 25-30-year-old vines matured for nine months on lees. It is crystalline and pure with a wonderfully refined bouquet of bright citrus and white orchard fruits, embellished by lightly waxy, floral and chalky mineral accents. Focussed and fresh on the palate, it has superb balance and drive, culminating in an exceptionally long complex finish. In youth these wines can be a little austere, but they have a phenomenal capacity to age, with many examples from the early 2000s still drinking unbelievably well.
Ruth says ” A white for those that love full-bodied, tropical whites. 100%Chenin Blanc, pineapple, spice, honey and lemon zest, full bodied and textured.”
