A great value expression of the Primitivo grape, perfect served by-the-glass for any occasion. Ruby red in colour the wine displays aromas of cherries and jam along with light notes of violets and anisette. The palate is soft and elegant with well balanced tannins sustained by a pleasurable freshness and crispness.
Tormaresca is made up of two estates in different areas of the Puglia wine region of southern Italy. In the central, inland region of Castel del Monte they grow the Aglianico grape and in the Salento peninsula of the extreme south-east, Primitivo and Negroamaro grapes are grown. Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay are grown in both zones, giving the winemaking team at Tormaresca a broad palette from which to blend the very consistent range of wines. Antinori invested here in 1998 and in that time Tormaresca has become a flagship of Puglian production: Torcicoda combines the soft fruit of Primitivo (aka Zinfandel) with a definite Italian edge.
