Description
Pouilly-Fuissé wines are considered the top of the South Burgundy or Macconnais. Domaine Simonin dates back to 1800 and has remained family-owned. Since 1981 Jacques Simonin runs the company with his wife. The vineyards are located in the valley of Vergisson and only planted with Chardonnay grapes. All grapes are harvested by hand. The soil contains a lot of calcium and fossils that give the wines their distinctive minerality. Pouilly-Fuissé Vieille Vignes comes from vines averaging 70 years in and around Vergisson. The wine is matured in wooden casks. 100% wooded Chardonnay from old vines, refined and elegant. Many aromas of yellow and white fruits, floral tones. Very good structure. A nice glass!
