Zensa Nero di Troia Organic/Bio '24

Our Story
Established in 1909 as a neighbourhood grocer, Deveneys quickly became known not only for its exceptional produce but also for its place at the heart of the community. Marie and Malachy Deveney ran the shop in Rathgar, selling fresh fruit and vegetables while always offering a warm welcome, a listening ear, and genuine kindness to everyone who came through the door.

Marie and Malachy Deveney ran the shop in Rathgar, selling fresh fruit and vegetables while always offering a warm welcome, a listening ear, and genuine kindness to everyone who came through the door.
In the early 1970s, Tom & Mal joined the family business and introduced wine, gradually transforming Deveneys from a traditional grocer into the specialist wine shop it is today—while preserving the same sense of community that has always defined it.
