Description
Maison Ambroise dates back to the 18th century when only a few parcels had been planted around Nuits-Saint-Georges in Burgundy. Bertrand Ambroise took over the vineyard from his father-in-law in 1987, and is now run by his son and daughter. They have been working on developing the winery`s organic philosophy and were certified by Ecocert in 2013. They remove many of the leaves around the bunches of the grapes to produce riper tannin and has de-stemmed the Pinot Noir since 2002 which, along with 28 day maceration, helps produce balanced wines of classic Burgundian character with structure and poise.
Intense and forward nose of blackcurrant, cassis and blackberry infused with mocha spice. Pure, concentrated and focused with ripe, fine tannins and a multi-layered core of red and black fruits with integrated toasted oak. A mini Nuits-Saint-Georges!
