It pours a luminous ruby-red color with bright garnet reflections. The highly expressive, classic nose opens with a fragrant bouquet of wild morello cherries, sour plums, and dark raspberries, layered beautifully over secondary notes of dried red roses, tobacco leaf, leather, and a touch of wild thyme. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, remarkably linear, and savory. The juicy core of red forest fruits runs over firm, fine-grained tannins and a signature, mouth-watering vein of vibrant acidity, leading into a long, focused finish highlighted by a classic touch of chalky minerality and a hint of white pepper.
