Description
Clean and brilliant with an attractive, elegant garnet hue. Pleasant fresh aromatics with red berry fruit notes, such as raspberries, coming through along with balsamic hints. The whole combines to offer a complex, serious wine.
Crianza is a classic red wine from the D.O Ribera del Duero region and is produced by Tinto Pesquera, a winery that belongs the Familia Fernández Rivera group.
The area is home to a mediterranean climate with continental influences, characterised by dry summers and long harsh winters. The temperatures vary noticeably from season to season.
This wine is made using only Tempranillo (100%) grapes than are grown on vineyards which span over 200 hectares on soils composed of sands, gravels and contain limestone and clay.
As for production, after passing a selection table, the grapes are destemmed. They then undego a traditional vinification process. Maceration takes place with the skinds still on, followed by fermentation at a controlled temperature with lasts for 2 to 3 weeks.
Finally, Pesquera Crianza ages for 18 months in French and American oak barrels, followed by 6 months in the bottle.
