Château Tour de Pez 2016 develops fruity scents (black cherry, blueberry) mixed with more floral notes (violet, iris). The palate is quite tense with a lovely acidity that is accompanied with crunchy tannins. There are also savoury spices and leather notes with a delightful finish. Chateau Tour de Pez is located at the heart of Saint-Estephe appellation, in the heart of the Left Bank. The castle’s iconic 18th century tower overlooks the estate 48 parcels covering 30 hectares laying on limestone-clay marl and gravel soils. The vineyard grows the region’s main grape varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. Since Philippe Bouchara took over management in 1989, the property underwent extensive renovations which resulted in a significant quality upgrading in 2008: Chateau Tour de Pez was promoted to Cru Bourgeois following new annual classification regulations.
