Corralejo dates back to 1775 in the town of Guanajuato. This añejo is aged 12 months in charred American oak. This mature spirit is packaged in a red bottle, which is the Mexican color of prosperity. Made from 100% Blue Weber agave, Corralejo is the only tequila distillery to use the French Charentais method of distillation as used in Cognac production. This rich and refined Añejo is aged for 12 months in new, charred American oak barrels. Corralejo’s Anejo is a complex spirit best enjoyed on its on to appreciate the skills of the maestro tequilleros.
Very light in color, this anejo is equally light in aroma, offering a gentle nose of brown sugar, cracked pepper, and a smattering of fresh herbs — though everything is kept very simple and quiet. The palate is a bit more aggressive, with clearer black and red pepper notes, a darker caramel note vs. the lighter brown sugar evident on the nose, and a citrus note that adds acidity to the mix
