Description
This wine is part of the “Artist Series”, with the label changing every 3 years. Le Kottabe is made from a 100% Riesling from 45-year-old vines, from small plots with gravel terroirs in the plains around Wintzenheim and Turckheim.
The family-owned winery, created in 1854 in Alsace, near Colmar, is committed to organic and biodynamic farming. Today, the winery is run by two sisters, Celine and Isabelle, following in their fathers footsteps. The vineyard, which spans 24.4 hectares, has been organically and biodynamically cultivated since 2000 and certified since 2004.
The philosophy of biodynamics emphasises the importance of a living and balanced soil for the vine to thrive harmoniously and adapt to climate change. In the cellar, the wines ferment naturally at their own pace.
Beautifully balanced, with citrus notes that refresh the palate. Acacia blossom also balances the citrus. Finally, it has a lovely minerality!
