Distilled from fresh Sicilian pink grapefruit, Italian lemons, juniper and other handpicked botanicals.
The ingredients are sourced from the Mediterranean, with Sicilian pink grapefruit and Italian rhubarb infusing the gin for a full 36 hours, giving it its beautiful pink colour. The choice of grapefruit is key – the Sicilian variety is prized for its deep pink flesh, which is ripened at low temperatures during colder weather.
The hue and flavour of the pink grapefruit may well be front and centre, but it’s not an overpowering taste. Thanks to the rhubarb, the gin is delicate enough to drink neat – the sour pink grapefruit is balanced by the sweetness of the rhubarb, and there’s even a hint of rose, though this isn’t included in the list of botanicals.
There are still notes of juniper, coriander and angelica which are enhanced when the gin is stirred with tonic.
