Description
Mar de Frades is produced in the Rias Baixas, with grapes coming from the terraces south of Mount Valiñas, in the Salnés Valley.
In Mar de Frades we find the influence of the proximity of Ria de Arousa and the ocean breezes that give it a salty character. The sand in the vineyard soils is poor and shallow, resulting from the erosion of the granite, which gives the wine a certain minerality.
After manual harvesting, the grapes are sorted with the utmost care (20 to 25% of the harvest is not kept) and then macerated for 10 to 20 hours. After a light crushing, the result is a delicate and very aromatic wine
Bright, raw-lime color and greengage glints. This radiant appearance invites us to find on the nose mango, pineapple and lychee hints together with wild flowers and the balsamic notes of eucalyptus. On the palate, its vitality comes through in its fresh saltiness. Its Atlantic character reveals itself through its mineral nuances and the lingering presence of the tropical fruit.
