Description
Arguably the most sought after producer in Beaujolais today, Marcel Lapierre led the return to using the “old methods” starting with old vines, never using synthetic herbicides or pesticides, harvesting late, rigorously sorting to remove all but the healthiest grapes and adding minimal doses of Sulphur, if any at all. Made using 100% Gmay Noir, and only semi carbonic maceration, resulting in more of a Pinot Noir style red than a traditional Gamay. The nose displays characteristics of light red berry fruit and floral elements. The palate is heavier than expected with a soft berry and a liquorice finish. 11.5% ABV. Perfect with white meats, fish and salads.
