Description
Verónica Ortega Cobrana 2017 is a juicy red wine with aromas of red fruit, spicy notes and touches of violets and wild herbs. On the palate it is fragrant, fresh and mineral. Medium bodied with a pleasant texture and a flavoursome finish.
Verónica Ortega Cobrana is a wine made with Mencía, Palomino, Doña Blanca, Godello and other varieties from a vineyard that is over 90 years old, located at 750 metres and planted on weathered slate and clay soils.
They are manually harvested and placed in 15-kg boxes. Once they arrive at the winery, the whole bunches are macerated in open cone-shaped wooden foudres of 3000 litres, where they ferment with native yeasts. The malolactic fermentation and the ageing take place in 228-litre French oak barrels and 800-litre amphorae for 13 months.
