Description
The communal Côte de Beaune appellation concerns only the red and white wines of the Beaune appellation, over 52 hectares. The name of the climat, as is the case here, may accompany the words Côte de Beaune. This AOC should not be confused with either the Côte de Beaune-Villages AOC or the Hautes Côtes de Beaune AOC, also municipal but exclusively in red, present in the municipalities of Ladoix aux Maranges.
On the municipal territory of Beaune, the capital of Burgundy wine, this climat occupies the upper balcony of the hillside between Savigny-lès-Beaune and the “mountain” of Beaune. Excellent location halfway up the hill since right next to it is Mont-Batois where winegrowers from the Côte-d’Or carry out their research (selection of grape varieties, cultivation methods). Just below on the hillside stretch the famous Bressandes, one of the best Premiers Crus in Beaune.
