Description
Located in the heart of the Mâconnais, our historic vineyard is an integral part of the region’s tourist appeal. The story begins in particular in 1660, when Claude Brosse, a merchant, brought the wines of the Mâconnais to the attention of Louis XIV. This wine-growing tradition is accompanied by an exceptional environment, between vineyards, rocks, monuments and breathtaking castles.
This cuvée comes from the selection of a plot located at a place called “La Charmone”, a 25-year-old vine, on shallow soils, mainly clay-limestone, remarkable for its western exposure.
Classic vinification: mechanical harvesting, thermal controls of fermentations which take place in vats before Christmas.
The wines stay on the fine lees until bottling in April. This wine presents a greedy attack, an aromatic nose with a fruity mouth. This Mâcon Charnay “La Charmone”, in its first years, will be appreciated as an aperitif and during its maturation will accompany all kinds of terrines of vegetables, fish or cooked white meats as well as the famous small regional Mâconnais.
