Description
The vineyard is located in Gualtallary, in the Uco Valley, which boasts the highest vineyards in Mendoza.
Here the composition of soils, climate and altitude, make this region exceptional. The Soil is composed of medium alluvial stone, covered with calcium carbonate patina and interspersed with sand and limestone. The vineyard is situated at 1350 m above sea level, and the cold air flowing down from the Andes leads to a long ripening season.
The grapes are hand-picked and then gently destemmed, without breaking the berries.
Alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, followed by a post-fermentation maceration for approximately 25 days. The wine is aged in second and third fill French oak barrels for 16 months.
“Dark fruited, enticing nose with cocoa, tobacco and herbs. On the palate, mulberries, violets and baking spices. Bold structure with mouth-watering acidity and firm tannins. Elegant and classy.” International Wine & Spirits Competition
“Deeply coloured, suitably aromatic and all aged in old wood to allow the fruit to express itself, this has a nice combination of bramble and raspberry flavours and a bright tangy finish. Drink 2021-29.” Tim Atkin MW
