Assyrtiko

€22.90
A beautifully fresh and textured orange wine from Crete, made from equal parts Assyrtiko and Vidiano. Pale amber in colour, it opens with aromas of orange peel, ripe peach, apricot and citrus, alongside delicate floral and Mediterranean herbal notes.
The palate is dry, lively and wonderfully textured, combining bright citrus acidity with juicy stone fruit and a subtle mineral, saline character. Extended skin contact brings a gentle tannic grip and a savoury edge, while the finish is long, fresh and pleasantly bittersweet.

Lyrarakis family uncovered East Crete's potential since the 1970s. Initially in the "Voila" plain and later in the surrounding areas, we have identified exceptional vineyards where the great grape variety Assyrtiko thrives.
Bright yellow-straw colour. Aromas of white-fleshed fruit and citrus flowers with chalky notes and hints of fresh green herbs. The mouthfeel is full-flavoured and crisp with a salty freshness and a long mineral aftertaste.
