The estate is a pioneer of lees aging in the Rías Baixas DO, a practice that has set their wines apart since their first harvest. The Albariño Sobre Lías (meaning "on lees") undergoes extended aging on fine lees, which imparts greater texture and complexity to the wine.
The wine demonstrates a fresh and lively acidity, with a creamy texture and unctuous mouthfeel, thanks to its lees aging. The flavours of ripe stone fruits and citrus are balanced with a fine minerality, creating a wine that is fruity, long, and well-balanced

Fermented using ambient yeasts and aged strictly in inert stainless steel tanks, it pours a crystalline pale straw colour. The expressive nose gives off a pungent bouquet of crisp lemon zest, green apple, juicy melon, and tropical pineapple fruit, underlaid by delicate nuances of wild flowers. On the palate, it is light, soft-textured, and exceptionally mineral-driven. A vibrant, crunchy citrus acidity cuts cleanly through the fruit profile, resolving into a balanced, harmonious, and highly refreshing finish.

Albariño is usually grown in coastal Spanish regions, but this wine is from a little-known area in Rioja – Valles de Sadacia. You might think that the Rioja region is too hot to nurture a grape that thrives by the sea, but Valles de Sadacia is famed for its dry white wines. And this is a stellar example. Expect apple, citrus and stone-fruit flavours that’ll pair exceptionally well with seafood paella – or, as its label and name suggest, octopus.

This Albariño displays a pale straw-yellow hue with bright greenish reflections. The nose is clean and aromatic with lots of stone fruits -apricot, apple), pineapple, and fresh herbal notes and citrus undertones and a saline finish.
On the palate, it is elegantly structured, well-balanced, and energetic with lots of citrus fruit and Atlantic herbs. The long, crisp finish is marked by a distinct saline minerality. Delicious!

La Val is a historical founder of the Rías Baixas appellation. It is also one of the largest vineyard owners in this region with 94 hectares of fundamentally Albariño vineyards across four large estates: Vilachán in the Rosal, and Taboexa, Arantei and Porto in the Condado de Tea.
This wine is fresh and elegant with a lively interplay of fruit and "Atlantic herbs". It is known for its mineral freshness and a long saline finish.
