The bouquet opens with a pronounced intensity, throwing off opulent aromas of ripe black plums, blackberry jam, and wild blueberries, seamlessly layered with sophisticated notes of fine leather, licorice, cocoa, and toasted moka. On the palate, it is dense, full-bodied, and remarkably velvety. The unctuous mouthfeel carries concentrated black fruit profiles balanced by a fresh, food-friendly acidity and tight, beautifully polished tannins that build into a long, warming, and intensely spicy finish with a lingering touch of white pepper and graphite minerality.

Bodegas Arrocal is a family-run winery nestled in Gumiel de Mercado, a charming village in the D.O. Ribera del Duero. Owned by Rosa Arroyo and Moisés Calvo, both locals with deep roots in the region, the winery was established in 1999. Together with their sons, they have cultivated a sustainable business that beautifully marries traditional winemaking practices with modern technology.

 A premium leap forward from the estate's classic Crianza. Sourced from old vines rooted in high-altitude, limestone-rich soils, this 2023 vintage is aged for 12 months in used French oak barrels to preserve its exceptional clarity of terroir

It pours a brilliant cherry red with deep crimson reflections. The nose is wonderfully expressive, opening with pure, intense aromas of wild blackberries, ripe red plums, and dark cherries, elegantly woven with dried Mediterranean herbs (like local wild thyme), subtle pipe tobacco, and a delicate touch of roasted cacao. On the palate, it is medium-to-full-bodied, remarkably elegant, and open. Layers of crunchy dark forest fruits match perfectly with soft, finely-woven tannins and a refreshing vein of balancing acidity, resolving into a long, focused finish highlighted by a classic touch of chalky minerality

Conde Valdemar Reserva is intense and bright ruby red in colour. The nose is complex and clean, with aromas of ripe fruit and balsamic notes. The palate is very nicely balanced, rounded with pleasant structure and a lovely long lingering finish.

Emilio Moro displays ripe blackberry and plum aromas with hints of vanilla, cocoa, and subtle spice from oak ageing. Full-bodied and well-structured, it offers smooth tannins, balanced acidity, and a long, elegant finish, making it an excellent match for grilled meats, roast lamb, and mature cheeses.

Torre Oria Crianza is a red wine from the Utiel-Requena DO that reflects the Mediterranean essence of its origin. Crafted from a careful selection of Bobal, Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, it combines varietal authenticity with a contemporary style. Its six months of ageing in oak barrels give it complexity and structure without masking the fruity character that defines the red wines of the region. The result is a balanced, expressive and genuine wine.

Ripe raspberry and cherry fruit on the palate with lots of vanilla and elegant, well integrated oak on the palate. This is a world renowned red and a favourite here in Deveney's.

Works best with roasted red meats, white cheese and charcuterie.
